Well Rupert the tortoise went out one day,
Took a wrong turn in a curious way,
Found himself in a blue recycle bag,
Headin’ off to Mayside — what a tag!
Oh Rupert, you brave little shell,
Through the clatter and the clang, you did well!
From the blue bag ride to the whirring line,
You made it out safe, you’re doin’ just fine.
The Mayside crew saw somethin’ move,
Said, “Hold up, lads — that’s no tin of soup!”
They stopped the belt and saved the day,
Rupert blinked and said, “I’m okay!”
Oh Rupert, you brave little shell,
Through the clatter and the clang, you did well!
From the blue bag ride to the whirring line,
You made it out safe, you’re doin’ just fine.
Now he’s restin’ up at the GSPCA,
Had a vet check, got the all-clear, hooray!
Steve Byrne said, “It’s a miracle, mate,”
Now Rupert’s goin’ home — what a twist of fate!
Oh Rupert, you legend of the line,
You’ve recycled hearts one shell at a time.
Back to your garden, safe and sound,
The toughest tortoise on the island found!
From a blue bag to Mayside,
To a headline ride —
Rupert, you’ve earned your lettuce tonight
